Happy New Years, Everyone!

Unfortunately, with the wind down of the holidays, the Calendar has not been updated just yet -- but that should be fine, as there is only one event for this month, and it will last for the entire month, starting in a few days once we have everything organized with the Players. :)

But, sadly, You guys don’t get to know what it is until the event actually starts! But, we will be doing sign ups. ;)

Giving away absolutely everything about the Event will take away the fun of the surprise. However, since there isn’t a Calendar up to give a hint, I’ll give some now: The Event will be in groups, in a new setting as well as being potentially dangerous.

And just so everyone is aware, since this post has just bumped it down, there is also an HMD currently going on.

New Year's still isn't quite the same without Times Square. I considered doing a ball drop in the center of town, but it just doesn't compare.

I really didn't think I'd be spending a second year in this place, but you kind of adjust over time. The year is starting off better than last, I think.

Hey, Bats. You've been quiet lately. I've looked all over the town's normal brooding spots, but I haven't seen you. Anything you got for me so I can put myself to use?

So... the Christmas party was really fun. I don't know who spiked the punch, but I guess it's okay. No one got hurt or anything, and no one embarrassed themselves too much. That they can remember.

We should do that more often. Not the big party, but just... get together and have dinner. If Lelouch and Haruhi-chan are willing to cook and bake for us that often, anyway. It would be really fun, since everyone seemed to enjoy themselves so much before.

I'm the next casualty of that thing called a hiatus. I've been busy since New Year's Eve, actually, but I just realized that it's not going to end until the end of the month. Mostly.

My cousin's wedding is on Friday which my family and I are preparing for, I start a new job on Sunday, and I've got winter break homework to finish before I start classes again on the 20th. My class load is no joke either so I want to finish a whole week of class so I can see how busy I really am, and where I can fit in RP-related stuffs... ;;

So that puts me back at about February 1st. Here's what my muses will be up to for the month:

Haruhi (reallyiamagirl ) will be working, hanging out with Tamaki and their puppy, and just mostly doing what she usually does.
Abel (fatherofmercy ) will be wandering the city and eating all the food in the house.

The new year. A bit ridiculous to celebrate something like this, isn't it? But perhaps I'm simply jaded. When one's seen as many years as I have...

[ a somewhat noncommittal grunt is recorded ] Still can't believe I've been here for nearly two years.

I received my father's necklace for the holidays, from "Santa." Whomever "Santa" happened to be this year, you have my thanks. Overall, I suppose I've had a fairly good year. A momento from home, a lover, and an oasis of blood. It sure as hell beats eating monkeys alone in the jungle.

Is it... really the new year?

It feels like... it came so fast.

[There's a startled 'oh!' sound...]

The new... year -- [There's a little more of a panicked, depressed sound, almost like a sob. But she's not crying. It's just one of those Miranda things.]

Thanks for the cake, Himemiya. It was uh...interesting! I'm glad you remembered my birthday. I'd almost forgotten.

I can't believe I celebrated a birthday here. It's strange, but it's not bad. I can't believe I'm fifteen...a whole year. [a laugh, then recorded, softly:] It was like time never passed in that place, and now that I'm gone, it's moving again.

[Silence for a while, a soft-sounding "Chuuu..." and giggles from Utena:] Chu-chu! Cut it ou--that tickles! I'm trying to write. [...] Hey, give me back that quill! Get off my head--

While it's quite clear that 'Santa Claus' is naught but an alias, these gifts are appreciated. I do hope the spirit of this season carries through to the new year; despite the weather, it has been more than pleasant.

I look forward to venturing out into Rivelata proper to aid the poor and destitute with King Alastair. Any and all help would be appreciated and remembered, I'm sure.
